Neal Cohen on Panel at Brain Plasticity Symposium

L-R: Sanmi Koyejo, Aron Barbey, Neal Cohen, Jocelyn Faubert, and Sepideh Sadaghiani at the morning panel discussion

Last week’s symposium on “Revolutionizing Brain Plasticity Through Advanced Science, Engineering, and Medicine” featured multiple fascinating keynotes and panel discussions. MBM faculty Dr. Neal Cohen, who is also theĀ founding director of the Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Institute, sat on both morning and afternoon panel discussions.

Keynote speakers Sanmi Koyejo (far left) and Jocelyn Faubert (second from right) joined Aron Barbey, Neal Cohen, and Sepideh Sadaghiani at the morning panel discussion. The discussion covered several topics, including the connections in the brain in relation to our memory and experiences, and how plasticity happens at all levels of brain function.

The symposium was part of a larger conference on The 21st Century University and Research for the Public Good, April 10-12, 2018, celebrating the sesquicentennial anniversary of the University of Illinois. MBM trainees attended sessions of this symposium throughout the day in conjunction with their participation in the program.
